Luxury Lodges
The Lodges at the Mains comprise two 5 Star luxury lodges, that have been designed for 2 people, situated in a stunning rural and wildlife rich setting. ‘Scots Pine’ and ‘Silver Birch’ are generously proportioned double-storey lodges and offer the ultimate luxury for couples.
Constructed from local larch – with expanses of glass and balconies to make the most of the woodland setting – our Eco Lodges are Highland 5 Star self-catering at its best. Both lodges boast wood-fired hot tubs, fully-equipped solid oak kitchens, spacious lounge areas, wood-burners, indoor sunken Jacuzzi bath, multi-room sound systems, exquisite soft furnishings and bespoke furniture made by local craftsmen.
Dining & Relaxing
Spacious, light and airy, our Highland luxury lodges are perfect for both entertaining and kicking back and relaxing.
A well-stocked hand-made solid oak kitchen with natural stone floors awaits guests and is equipped with modern appliances. A generously proportioned dining area leads off the kitchen with a bespoke dining table of homegrown elm taking pride of place.
The adjoining lounge area is spacious but cosy with a wood-burning stove as its focal point – if you can drag your eyes from the stunning views from every window. There is also underfloor heating throughout the lodges.
A state-of-the-art 37” HD TV is hooked up to a Blu-Ray DVD player with a collection of classic movies to browse and there is Wi-Fi, a multi room sound system and an iPod docking station as well as a selection of books, maps and board games to keep guests entertained.
UPSTAIRS
An oak and glass staircase leads you up to the top floor of each 5 Star Highland lodge and boasts a mezzanine level with a magnificent whirlpool bath. On the top floor is the beautiful Master bedroom with king-sized bed, high ceilings and built-in wardrobes. There is a second ‘relax’ room …. the perfect reading room/craft room/painting room/yoga room with luxury recliner.
The bedroom is furnished with craftsmen-made furniture of local elm with high quality mattresses, pillows and linen and boasts a balcony and seating area with panoramic view to the Moray Firth.
There is an adjoining en-suite shower-room.
OUTSIDE
A large deck and balcony lets guests enjoy the unrivalled rural setting of these Highland Eco lodges. The deck features a stunning wood-fired hot tub (totally natural – no chemicals – just soft clear Scottish water). Our hot tubs are perfect for those romantic evenings – sitting out under the stars. Views to the rear are of woodland with farmland to the front – where our resident red squirrels, roe deer, woodpeckers, jays and many other wonderful wildlife can be spotted – and, beyond, a small lochan with bird hide.
The larch cladding beds our lodges into their natural surroundings and reclaimed slates and landscaping using only indigenous species such as rowan and birch make you feel at the heart of nature.

At Lodges at the Mains we pride ourselves on offering luxury Eco living and have made every effort to make sure our Highland lodges make as little impact on the environment as possible.
A ground source heating pump, solar panels, cellulose insulation and careful sourcing and use of local natural materials and local craftsmen helps reduce the carbon footprint of the building but at no cost to comfort.
