Well, it’s hard to believe but our little Bloggy has grown up and left home. Off into the wide blue yonder and excited about the next few months of adventures.
Now as everyone knows when the chicks fly the coop there is more often than not a spare room. Well the Lodges at the Mains is no different and we have some pretty amazing changes coming up in 2017 on that very subject.
Our vision way back in 2010, when the Lodges were just little splinters of wood and hadn’t grown up into big strong buildings, was a place of peace and calm with amazing wildlife and views. A place where the interiors and furnishings were (and still are ) of a very high standard and extremely comfortable. Somewhere you could just spend the whole day lounging about or come back to after a full days sightseeing and kick off your shoes, pop the cork and switch on the music …. ahhhhhhhh …. perfect.
Well, we’ve gone a step further. As off 2017 we have turned the second bedroom into a reading/craft/painting/writing/listening to music/looking through your photos/dreaming about your next visit room. Out go the two single beds and in comes a luxury recliner, a book case, storage for craft materials, painting materials, a record player – What??? – a record player, well yes, you can’t beat the fun of putting on a vinyl record! It may even be a dance room, but not a ‘Strip the Willow!’
This idea has been hatching for some time and having consulted the experts (i.e. some of our very loyal visitors) they agreed it was a great idea. Whilst one of the couple may thoroughly enjoy watching the Moto G.P. there is a good chance the other has a different agenda for a ‘stay at home’ day. Or whilst one may want to snuggle on the couch watching that old film for the zillionth time, the other may prefer to read or sort through the photos on their iPad. Two happy people!! Just what we like.
Equally as exciting but a bit slower to see any results, is the work done around the outside of the Lodges. New trees and shrubs planned and soon to be planted in the immediate vicinity and also on the islands and banks of the Lochan (great for photo opportunities), a host of bulbs waiting to go in for some spring colour and in the hidden little corners some lupins and foxgloves to brighten up your day. We have a few more ideas but you’ll just have to book a break to see them!
We’ve lots more ideas and even a little competition planned for 2017 but until then the November Bloggy will be out soon and then it’s Christmas and New Year festivities with Christmas markets, concerts, exploring days in the car, frosty sparkling mornings, perhaps some snow, lunches by log fires, mince pies and some fizz – oh 2016 is sure going to go out in style.
Now I’m off to make sure the battery on the camera is fully charged as the photos for December should be pretty special.
